MEHMET ÇELİKEL HIGH SCHOOL

Mehmet Çelikel High School is a co- educational high school founded in 1938.It is known as the first Foundation School of Turkey.Admission is based on the standardized high school entrance exam developed by the Ministry of National Education.We have 600 students and 50 teaching staff.The school aims to educate students to strive to become leaders in their chosen fields.Students are between 14 to 18 . All the school staff and teachers continuously seek professional development opportunities to provide the best education to the students.

Education is in Turkish but students also learn English and German as a second language. Students proceed to the top universities of Turkey after their graduation.  We have also English department where the students are learning English  to earn a place at university. The school is newly equipped with the latest technology in the frame of FATİH PROJECT .

The school aims to educate students to strive to become leaders in their chosen fields.It has a good pedigree and many alumni from its earliest days up to today have played instrumental roles in areas like politics,arts and education in Turkey. Located on a hill commanding the city,the school building has a beautiful view of the sea.

The classrooms,offices and the library are continuously renovated to meet the newly arising  needs.Classes are equipped with the  IWBs,internet and labtops. A major distinguishing feature of the school is the rich co-curricular program. School Clubs student clubs contribute to the self-confidence and diversified education of the students. This versatility gained at school becomes a natural tool in the students’ future professional lives.

HACETTEPE UNIVERSITY COMPUTER EDUCATION AND INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY

Hacettepe University  CEIT Department was established in 1998. The department aims to train students (prospective teachers) who would teach information technology-related courses in K-12 institutions. It also provides individuals with knowledge and professional skills in the development, organization, and application of resources for the solution of instructional problems within schools.

Teaching is done by a combination of lectures, classes, and practical work in modern laboratories with state-of-the-art workstations where a wide range of learning resources in print, recording, or in electronic form are used. Moreover, students are required to do practice teaching in schools as a part of their training. Assessments of the students are done through written and oral exams, laboratory assignments, term projects, project presentations, and group work.

The CEIT Graduate programs (M.Sc. and Ph.D.) aim to do scientific research on the use of information technologies in teaching-learning situations, development and diffusion of those technologies in educational settings and distance learning, developing educational products, and training human resources needed in the field.

In the light of universal values, to train high qualified teachers by taking the advantage of science, technology and art accumulation and to make our pupils serve for benefits of society in the areas of research, education, and service.

IES Jándula

IES Jándula  is a public High School founded in 1983. We have 670 students and 58 teachers. Students are between 12 and 18. Our school  devotes itself mainly on Secondary Education: 4 years of  Compulsory Secondary Education;  it also offers 2 years of A levels , for those students who want to enter University, and two Training Programmes, one  of middle-level and the other of higher level, the former in Physical and Sporting activities; the latter in the Development of Cross-platform Applications. Some students in these programmes  are older than 18. Ies Jándula also organizes successful competitions on mathematics and creative writing for students from  different locations near Andújar.

We offer English-Spanish bilingual education at the three levels. Students also can learn French and German as a second language . Our students usually get  good marks in the university entrance examination. Also teachers are highly motivated in the learning of English. Ies Jandula is in its second year as a Trinity Examination Center, Some of our students and teachers  are doing a great effort to get that certificate . Our high School is also a ICT centre. This project is also an excellent opportunity for students to improve in everyday use of technology, and for teachers to incorporate more successfully ICT to their methodology.

ASPETE HIGHER SCHOOL OF PEDAGOGIC & TECHNOLOGICAL EDUCATION

ASPETE provides concurrent technological and pedagogical education and training at tertiary level. Its mission includes the promotion of applied research in pedagogical applications of Information and Communication Technology(ICT in Education), educational technology and pedagogy, as well as the provision of training, further training or specialization for in-service or prospective secondary teachers. ASPETE’s policy statement also acknowledges the changing landscape of Higher Education in Europe and encourages transnational cooperation.

ASPETE has the following Academic Departments:

The degree issued by the Technological Departments of ASPETE qualifies its holders to teach in the corresponding discipline in secondary education. It is awarded following the completion of a course of study of eight academic semesters including the submission of a graduation thesis and the practical work experience in the field. ASPETE also implements programmes of Pedagogical training in all over Greece through its brances, This training courses is equivalent to the Postgraduate Certificate in education and after completion of that pre-service teachers –graduates from other disciplines like economics etc, are eligible to apply as teachers at the secondary education.

COLEGIUL TEHNIC DE TRANSPORTURI “TRANSILVANIA” CLUJ-NAPOCA

The Technical College for Transport “Transylvania” comprises a technological high-school and a vocational school in areas such as mechanics, electronics, electrics, civil constructions and transportations, grades range from the 9th to 12th. It has 500 students, aged between 15 and 19, the majority of them are of male gender, and 45 teachers. We can afford a chance for our teenage students coming from less favored or disadvantaged socio-economic background for quick integration into the professional work market.  A great number of our students continued their learning at universities, colleges, etc.The school has disadvantaged students at different grades. The  students are learning English and French in 9th to 12th grade at school, but they are studying some History and Geography, because we are a technical school.

The Tudás Alapítvány

The Tudás Alapítvány (Foundation of Knowledge) was formed in 1994.

Our objectives are:

• to support young artists and their art exhibitions
• to support lecturers and researchers
• to support book and journal publishing
• to release various publications
• to organise scientific and cultural conferences
• to cultivate cultural contacts between European nations
• to present and support Hungarian culture abroad
• to support the studies of talented students

Within the general objectives listed above the foundation gives special attention to the improvement of the competitiveness of lecturers and researchers working in the field of economy or agriculture and that of the college or university students taking part in education related to these fields and also the farmers concerned; the foundation wishes to achieve this through imparting up-to-date knowledge about economy, agriculture, environmental protection, rural development etc.,the preservation of natural and cultural values,the growth of cultural values by supporting new works of art (such as: statues, paintings, books, theatre performances, literature, music etc.) ,the preservation of historical traditions ,the support of the discovery, preservation and study of folk art and folk culture teaching the healthy way of life and the healthy attitude to life.

THE BAGATTA HIGH SCHOOL

The Bagatta High School, founded in 1792 and currently consists of four courses: high school, language school, School of Human Sciences for a total of about 1000 students. In all of the addresses is planned to study for English and German as a second language. The Institute offers workshops, cultural activities, conferences, trips, exchanges and other projects in collaboration with local institutions. The next morning curricular activities are numerous activities for the afternoon of the expansion of education in many areas: foreign languages, music, theater, sports, science, art.

LOMBARDO RADICE HIGH SCHOOL

The “Lombardo Radice” High School is located in a central area of Catania, a big industrial and touristic city in the island of Sicily. Our Liceo is in a socio-economically advantaged area and it offers a wide range of career opportunities to the territory of Catania and Province. Most of the pupils come from middle class families. Four years ago our school started a multilateral project Comenius and eTwinning involving English and Latin languages. It was very interesting and appreciated by students and families, it got European recognition and won the Regional and the European Quality Label. All courses enable students to learn languages, in particular the Linguistic course focuses on proficient levels of linguistic competence in English, French and Spanish. The school offers the ESABAC Certificate as regards the French Language.

We have just launched our International School which leads the students to get a GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) given by the Cambridge International Examination as we’ve been selected as Examination Centre. We usually organize “stages” in Spain, France, Great Britain and many other countries such as Russia, Canada etc. Our students are given the chance to attend laboratories of different types to get International language certifications. Moreover our school has invested in the Clil methodology enabling teachers to deal with non language subjects in European foreign languages. The school has mastered teaching through drama activities in English, Spanish and French, making pupils enthusiastic about learning by doing.

Our school welcomes foreign students through Comenius Projects and exchanges.The Comenius experiences have inspired our community to work heading towards the European dimension making us feel the need for training more and more teachers to achieve a better linguistic competence in order to be able to confront other European colleagues and their realities. In the last years Clil has become paramount in the Liceo cultural policy and therefore new generations of non language teaching colleagues have been trained both at University and in our school to implement their linguistic knowledge. Moreover, as our school offers a great number of students with dyslexia and learning disabilities a wide range of opportunities thanks to a highly motivated network of support teachers and curricular teachers, it is considered necessary for them to improve their teaching techniques and methodologies to spread them through the classes favouring the students integration and connection.
